O'Neil She was in her high-school years at the time of the auditions, tried out for the third season of Canadian Idol in the beginning of 2005. The judges were impressed with her singing and she advanced into the Top 100 Round. O'Neil was praised highly by the jury. Werner reportedly said that the headlines would state that O'Neil beat Goudie and became the third Canadian Idol. She was also the first female and youngest winner in the time of the show. O'Neil got a phone call from Canadian the prime minister Paul Martin to congratulate her on her win at Canadian Idol.
